Tired of having no storage in the shop and a workbench that was too lightweight to really work on, I set out to kill two birds with one stone by making a massive workbench with an abundance of drawer storage under it. I really didn’t want to spend a ton of money to get a ton of workbench (literally), so I let my mind wander out of the box and consider what materials could be used to make a cheap but heavy workbench top. It came up with: concrete.
Now for the storage segment under that bench top, that was pretty easy to figure out as I already had a set of drawers that I was very happy with and that hadn’t broke the bank. Borrowing the dimensions from the existing drawers, I calculated that I could fit 45 drawers under the 8 foot long bench top.
